Part of the reason for this blog is to encourage you, the reader; to remind you of the truths that can be forgotten in the midst of your present circumstances.
A truth that I’ve been hit with today is the fact that we are overcomers! I’ve heard song after song proclaiming this truth. I’ve sung them and got caught up in the emotion of it all…but what does it really mean? I came across this video today. Those worshipers are saying, ‘By faith we are overcomers, yes we are more than conquerors, trust in the Lord, He will bring you through, satan the Blood is against you.’ Initially, I was just drawn in by the energy of the group (I mean…watch it!). But then I started listening to the words and allowed them to minister to my heart.
My friends, Jesus didn’t waste His blood on the cross! That blood covers me and it covers you! What does that mean for us? When satan begins to remind us of our faults of everything we’ve done wrong…we can wave that blood stained banner and declare that we are not guilty! When the enemy attacks..we have a hope that cannot be shaken.
I get that it’s hard to see Him clearly in the midst of a crappy situation (for lack of a better phrase). I’ve been there. I wouldn’t dare assume that I understand the pain you may be experiencing. And it’s not my place to give you a timeline and say when you should be over whatever your going through. Jesus says in John 16:33, ‘I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble…’ He gets it…He gets that life is gonna be difficult at times. But the verse doesn’t end there, He goes on to say, ‘But take heart! I have overcome the world.’
He has overcome the world. That means regardless of what your going through…He is bigger than that. He is right there…you cannot escape His presence.
My friend, I may not know you or what your going through but I’ve been praying for you all day. I’ve been praying for those of you who have lost all hope. I’ve been clinging on to that hope for you.
You are not alone.
He has overcome the world.
