One of my professors, Tim Gombis, keeps a blog that I follow. He no longer teaches at my alma mater but I still call him my professor because I’m still learning so much from him through his writing.
He recently wrote a couple of posts on Bible study and mentioned that he learned from John MacArthur that an effective way to study the Word is by reading and re-reading 3 – 5 chapters a day for 30 days. Gombis talks about how he found himself memorizing these passages without even trying because of this repetition.
So I decided to try this method in my personal study of the Word. I will be reading the book of James everyday for 30 days. I’m also reading through the Gospels with my small group.
James plus the Gospels equals one wrecked life.
I’m excited for the journey.
