‘Good music changes me, shocks me, makes me feel comfortable, and drives me to think and hope and believe differently. And once in a while , it makes me cynical and sarcastic’ (10).
The above quote is one of my favorites from Matthew Paul Turner’s latest book Hear No Evil. I first discovered Turner after viewing one of his blog post on a friend’s twitter. I’ve loved following his blog and jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the blog tour. From the moment I opened the book, it was hard for me to put it down. Turner is an incredible writer with the ability to make you laugh and think deeply almost simultaneously. He takes us on a journey of the impact of music on his life. He is genuine, transparent and hysterical. His explanation of the power of music will force you to stop and consider the significance of the music you make and listen to. I am a better musician after reading this book. But even more, I am a better follower of Jesus.
